Privacy Policy — Coffee Focus

Coffee Focus does not collect anything.
That is the whole policy, and the rest of this page only explains why you can check it rather than take my word for it.
What is collected
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no telemetry of any kind.
What is stored, and where
Everything you create in the app stays on your device, in storage private to the app:
- your focus sessions and their history
- your tasks
- your settings, including timer lengths, your daily goal, your theme and your sound preferences
- which coffees you have unlocked
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Settings → Delete all data deletes all of it without uninstalling.
How you can verify this
Coffee Focus does not request the INTERNET permission. An Android app cannot open a network connection without it. This is not a promise about our intentions — it is a restriction the operating system enforces on us, and you can check it yourself:

android.permission.INTERNET does not appear in that list.
The app ships only the permissions it actually uses, listed below. Two others — WAKE_LOCK and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used to appear because Android libraries the app is built on declare them; they are now removed from the app at build time, because Coffee Focus does not take a wakelock and does not check your network state.
Exporting your data
The app can export your data as JSON or CSV. When you do that:
- you choose the destination, through Android's own file picker
- the file is written only where you chose
- nothing is uploaded, and the app never picks a destination for you
If you then put that file somewhere — a cloud drive, an email — that is your action and this policy does not cover what happens to it there.
Android's automatic backup is turned off
Android can copy an app's private data to your Google Drive by itself, with no prompt and no action from you. For this app that would have been every session, task and setting.
Coffee Focus opts out, of both the cloud backup and the device-to-device transfer that runs separately on Android 12 and later. In the manifest that is android:allowBackup="false" and a data_extraction_rules.xml that excludes everything, and you can check both in the APK rather than take this page's word for it.
The trade is deliberate and worth stating plainly: if you lose your phone, your history goes with it. Export is how you keep it, and you decide when.
Permissions and why each exists

None of these transmit anything.
Children
Coffee Focus is not directed at children, and collects nothing from anyone regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Coffee Focus ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than quietly made.
